Criminal Law Institute - Radboud University Nijmegen

The Nijmegen Criminal Law Institute(external link) is part of the Faculty of Law of the Radboud University Nijmegen(external link), the Netherlands. It’s research is embedded in the “Research Centre State and Law”. Professor Buruma and a team of twelve specialists in criminal law and criminology are basically focussed on the administration of justice as well as fundamental questions regarding human rights and criminal law.

The expertise of the researchers of the Nijmegen Criminal Law Institute has been aimed at the special powers for criminal investigation, the regulation of information in criminal procedural law (start-information, information and respect for privacy) and human rights. The research is driven by the aim to make a connection between the realities of the administration of justice (“law in action”) and the principles of criminal law.
